About: Jemila Hamid
Dr. Jemila Hamid (PhD, MSc) is a Biostatistician Scientist in the KT program, LKSKI of St. Michaels hospital and has academic appointments both at University of Toronto and McMaster University. Dr. Hamid holds PhD and MSc in mathematical statistics; and received a Statistics & Computer Science double major undergraduate training. She has extensive experience both in methodological and applied research; she has published both in statistical and medical journals. Her methodological research includes multivariate methods, methods for longitudinal data and growth curves, methods for interrupted time series analysis, data integration, high-dimensional data, meta-analysis, network meta-analysis and other commonly used methods in biomedical and population health research. She has had many years of experience in applications involving wide range of clinical topics including patient mobility, chronic disease management, drug safety and effectiveness, vaccine, diagnostic and laboratory medicine and applications in genetics. She has developed computational algorithms involving complex heath research questions and is familiar with several statistical packages including R, SAS, STATA, WINBUGs and MATLAB.
