Huda Shah is a PhD candidate in Health Services Research at the University of Toronto’s Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, under the supervision of Dr. Andrea Tricco. She is also currently working as a Senior Research Associate (Epidemiologist) at Ontario Health, where she contributes to chronic disease prevention and population health initiatives across the province.

Huda holds an MSc in Population Health from the University of Waterloo’s School of Public Health Sciences and subsequently worked on public health challenges including opioid-related harms and COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. Her doctoral research employs mixed methods to develop evidence-based guidelines that will allow researchers to increase the recruitment of racialized communities in healthcare research, addressing a persistent gap in health equity.

With expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, Huda is passionate about knowledge mobilization and improving data to enhance health outcomes for racialized populations in Canada. Her work aims to translate academic research into practical solutions that promote equitable health outcomes in all types of communities.
