Team Spotlight: Daniella Rangira

Role?

Research Coordinator, Knowledge Synthesis Team

Why did you join the KT Program?

I have a background in public health, with a specialization in epidemiology, and a strong passion for knowledge synthesis, more specifically, research methodology. I was drawn to the KT Program because it provides the opportunity to apply research methods to projects that have real-world impact, bridging the gap between evidence and practice. The collaborative, multidisciplinary environment also allows me to learn from and contribute to a diverse community of experts.

What has been the most rewarding project you’ve worked on and why?

One of the most rewarding projects I’ve led is the PRISMA extension for network meta-analyses, which focuses on updating reporting guidelines to reflect the best current evidence. This project allowed me to work closely with a research team, a steering committee, and patient partners, while also learning the process of initiating a Delphi study. It was incredibly fulfilling to see my project management skills grow while contributing to guidance that will help authors, journal editors, clinicians, and patients use and interpret network meta-analyses with greater clarity.

What’s a recent project accomplishment you’re proud of?

A recent project accomplishment that I’m proud of is helping launch our Research Integrity project, which explores equity, diversity, and integrity in highly cited research. Since this project differs from our usual synthesis work and includes a significant artificial intelligence component, we worked extensively on developing a detailed protocol and conducting the first pilot study to test our methods. It’s exciting to see this ambitious, multidisciplinary initiative take shape and to know we will be building tools that can strengthen ethical and inclusive research practices.
