Dr. Areti-Angeliki Veroniki (PhD) is a Scientist at the Knowledge Translation Program. She is a Mathematician with doctoral research in biostatistics and epidemiology. She is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto in the Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation. Her research focuses on advancing the methods for systematic reviews and network meta-analysis. In particular, she is interested in optimizing the processes of evidence-based medicine and statistical modelling for the knowledge synthesis of individual study findings, in order to inform healthcare decision making by clinicians, patients and policy makers. She is a co-Convener of the Cochrane Statistical Methods Group, co-Chair of the Cochrane Methods Executive, Statistical Editor for the Journal of Clinical Epidemiology, and an Associate Editor for the Research Synthesis Methods journal. Argie has led the NMA series at the BMJ Evidence Based Medicine, and co-edited the book “Meta-Research”, which presents state-of-the art design, analysis and integration approaches for biomedical data. She has published >110 peer-reviewed articles. She is currently leading the development of PRISMA Extension Statements for Network Meta-Analysis, with funding from CIHR.
