Understanding patient preferences in providing sociodemographic information in an acute care setting

Summary

This project aimed to understand patients’ attitudes, beliefs, preferences, and barriers in providing sociodemographic information in acute care settings. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with patients at St. Michael’s Hospital (SMH), Unity Health Toronto (UHT) to inform the study. We hope to develop recommendations for collecting patient sociodemographic information to advance equity of health services at SMH.
