Barriers and Facilitators Assessment Toolkit

Purpose of toolkit This toolkit has been developed in collaboration with partners from a variety of low- and middle-income country health settings, and is designed to support implementation planning in low-resource settings. Identifying barriers & facilitators, and developing strategies to address them, is key to the successful implementation of evidence-based clinical guidelines, policies or health […]

FindTMF

Theories, models and frameworks (TMF) are key to any implementation/knowledge translation project or initiative. This tool is designed to identify appropriate TMF and is intended for use by individuals who are involved in supporting implementation practice activities. Currently, the tool includes models and frameworks; a further iteration of the tool will incorporate theories.

Infographics

We have partnered with local, regional, and national knowledge users to co-create infographics and other tools to support evidence-based decision-making. See below for a sample of some of the tools we have co-developed and get in touch with us if you have an idea for a tool of your own. Fascia Iliaca Nerve Compartment Block […]

Knowledge To Action Model

The evidence to practice gap is the gap between research evidence being produced to being used in practice. Research has shown that this time gap can be more than 17 years!1, 2 This often means that patients are not receiving care in line with the best available scientific evidence. Using knowledge translation methods can significantly […]

Rank Heat Plot

The Rank Heat Plot presents a novel and simple graphical approach to improve the presentation of the treatment ranking in a network meta-analysis (NMA) including multiple outcomes. Please see the attached documentation if you are interested in creating a rank-heat plot.

Ready, Set, Change!

This is a decision support tool to help implementers select the most applicable readiness for change assessment measure.

Right Review

This tool is designed to provide guidance and supporting material to reviewers on methods for the conduct and reporting of knowledge synthesis.

Select Tool

The Select Tool supports implementers to operationalize the COM-B and Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF) to select corresponding, theoretically-linked strategies. The tool can be used to move from identifying barriers and facilitators to implementation to selecting the corresponding implementation strategies that can be tailored and operationalized based on user needs. Synthesi.SR

Synthesi.SR is an online tool developed by the Knowledge Translation Program to assist reviewers with screening titles/abstracts and full-text reports of relevant studies to be included in knowledge synthesis.

Systematic Review Process Map

This tool was developed by the St. Michael’s hospital KT program. We have a defined and rigorous process for all our systematic reviews. This process map tool takes you through the steps to conduct a systematic review. Download the process map here.

WHO Rapid Review Guide

Overview Policy-makers require valid evidence to support time-sensitive decisions regarding the coverage, quality, efficiency, and equity of health systems. Systematic reviews and other types of evidence syntheses are increasingly employed to inform policy-making and produce guidance for health systems. However, the time and cost to produce a systematic review is often a barrier to its […]
