    • Current text mining tools supporting abstract screening in systematic reviews are not widely used, in part because they lack both sensitivity and precision
    • This study set out to develop an accessible, semi-automated “workflow” to conduct abstract screening for systematic reviews and other knowledge syntheses, such as scoping reviews and systematic reviews with network meta-analyses
    • We created a workflow that was a sensitive, precise, and efficient alternative to the recommended practice of screening abstracts with two reviewers
    • The proposed workflow identified virtually all eligible studies. We have made it available to reviewers
