EFFECT-2 Trial

EFFECT-2 Trial: Comparative effectiveness of a tailored, multicomponent implementation strategy for improving lipid management in high-risk health regions – The “Enhanced Feedback for Effective Cardiac Treatment (EFFECT)-2” trial

Funded by a CIHR SPOR Innovative Clinical Trial Grant, the Enhanced Feedback for Effective Cardiac Treatment (EFFECT)-2 trial aims to determine if a tailored, multicomponent implementation strategy in high-risk health regions in Ontario can stimulate increased statin use in intermediate- and high-risk patients. Lead by Dr. Jack Tu (Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, Sunnybrook Research Institute), this trial will focus on lipid management practices (e.g., screening for cholesterol, prescribing medication, adhering to medication, assessing cardiac risk) to improve clinical outcomes in the Ontario adult population. As part of the trial, the KT program will support the development, implementation, and evaluation of the intervention strategy across multiple sub-regions across Ontario.
