    • This report aims to inform policy-making through an assessment of the clinical effectiveness and safety of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for the treatment of insomnia in adults
    • Non-pharmacologic treatment (e.g., cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)) and short duration treatment with pharmacological interventions both appear to improve sleep outcomes in adults with insomnia. However, the long-term effectiveness and safety of pharmacological interventions is poorly understood so further research is required before these interventions can be recommended.
